Job description

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, develop a comprehensive network of referrals to address the specific needs of seniors; plan and implement outreach programs, meetings, and informational items; assess needs of individual seniors and refer to proper entity for services.

Information and Assistance Coordinator is responsible to meet the California Department of Aging and Older Americans Act requirements to provide and monitor services to enable older individuals to maintain their well being, including services that address functional limitations, promote socialization, health, and independence, and protect elder rights.

Sixty semester units from an accredited college or university with major course work in health, gerontology, psychology, social sciences or related field and two years of community service, social work or related experience.

Valid California driver’s license.

A valid driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
