Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking experienced Information Systems Technicians with hands-on Navy experience to join the Surface Combat Systems Center on Wallops Island, VA. The role covers system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GCCS‑M and CANES in Navy C4I environments.

Responsibilities include configuring systems, applying patches, cybersecurity compliance, and fleet-aligned upgrades, with shifts including 1st/2nd, 2nd, and 4×10 options, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• High School/GED and more than three years of demonstrated experience administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining Navy C4I systems, specifically GCCS‑M or CANES.
• Navy IT rating or equivalent operational experience with afloat/shore network environments.
• Experience interpreting technical manuals, system documentation, and Navy cybersecurity requirements.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux/UNIX, virtualization technologies, and network fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on GCCS‑M, CANES, and associated Navy C4I systems.
• Schedule and document maintenance actions in accordance with Navy standards, including use of Navy maintenance tracking tools and configuration management processes.
• Maintain system readiness, manage user accounts, apply patches, and support system upgrades in alignment with fleet requirements.
