Overview

This is a 100% remote position. All new hires are required to have a CA address prior to starting at CHLA.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Information Security Engineer I serves a crucial role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of CHLA’s information assets and technology resources. They will serve as subject matter expert for the operations team and will provide support for other information security engineers and the information security architect. Responsibilities include planning, designing, implementing and operationalizing information security solutions aligned with CHLA policies and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
Required: 7 years of relevant work experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.

• Knowledge and use of VPN, IPSec, DES encryption, Digital Certificates, SSL, TCP/IP, DNS, DMZ and web security architecture, Nmap, Nessus, CoreImpact, CyberArk, Q1, Webinspect, Snort, or related products and applications.
• Knowledge of information security standards, rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, etc.) and desktop, server, workstation, application, database, network security principles for risk identification and analysis.
• Knowledge of business process standards and policies (ITIL, LEAN, Six Sigma).


Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Software Engineering preferred. CISSP or GIAC certifications or equivalent. Training and certification on network equipment and protocols.


Pay Scale Information


$84,656.00-$152,506.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
