Description
Influencer Marketing Manager
Location:Remote, USA
We’re looking for a seasoned and strategic Influencer Marketing Manager to lead the charge in building out a high-impact ambassador and creator program at Portland Leather Goods. Over the years, we’ve built a passionate, highly engaged community—but we’ve only scratched the surface when it comes to influencer marketing. That’s where you come in.
This isn’t a gifting coordinator role. It’s a high-impact, high-ownership position for someone ready to architect and scale a real influencer machine—where 300–500 creators are actively posting, converting, and building buzz around Portland Leather. From product seeding to paid partnerships to a full-fledged ambassador program, you’ll create the system, launch the campaigns, and drive results.
You’ll bring years of influencer marketing experience (brand and/or agency side), a strong POV on what makes creators convert, and fluency in tools like GRIN, Later, Aspire, or CreatorIQ. Bonus if you’ve built workflows with platforms like Archive or used social listening tools like Tagger or Traackr to uncover rising talent. You don’t just know the software—you know how to make it sing.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and scale a best-in-class influencer and ambassador program—from strategy to execution.
- Manage a dynamic roster of 300–500 creators, from micro-influencers to high-performing brand evangelists.
- Design and implement a tiered structure for gifting, paid, affiliate, and ambassador partnerships.
- Source, recruit, onboard, and retain creators aligned with our brand voice and values.
- Lead contract negotiations, manage deliverables, and ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Use tools like GRIN, Aspire, Later, or Archive to organize campaigns, streamline communication, and track performance.
- Collaborate closely with content, paid media, PR, retail, and social teams to launch integrated campaigns.
- Repurpose influencer content for paid ads, email, site, and organic social to maximize ROI.
- Develop internal systems and dashboards to measure reach, engagement, conversions, and content quality.
- Launch seasonal activations, seeding strategies, and surprise-and-delight creator moments.
- Align with the ecommerce team to support affiliate efforts and drive measurable sales.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors, including influencer marketing agencies and talent reps.
- Stay on top of creator trends, emerging platforms, and content performance insights.
- Serve as the primary brand liaison for the influencer community—building relationships with clarity, warmth, and high standards.
30-60-90 Day Plan:
30 Days
- Immerse yourself in PLG’s tone, values, customer community, and top-performing content.
- Audit current creator relationships, workflows, gifting practices, and platforms.
- Build a roadmap for scaling the ambassador program - including tiers, tools, and internal needs.
- Begin reaching out to high-potential creators for early test campaigns.
- Align with content, paid, and social teams on messaging, needs, and campaign strategy.
60 Days
- Launch and document a tiered creator program (gifting, paid, affiliate, ambassador).
- Implement campaign tracking tools and set up feedback loops to evaluate performance.
- Finalize contracts, briefs, and onboarding templates for consistency across creator partnerships.
- Launch your first large-scale influencer activation or seasonal campaign.
- Begin forming relationships with long-term strategic partners and agencies.
90 Days
- Build and maintain a pipeline of 100+ active creators consistently posting weekly.
- Roll out an ambassador portal or centralized communication hub.
- Create and present a deck summarizing early results, top content, and performance wins.
- Deliver a roadmap for holiday activations, affiliate integration, and 6-month growth goals.
- Establish internal systems for creator communications, gifting logistics, and repurposing workflows.
- Position PLG as a top-choice brand for lifestyle and fashion creators through strong partnerships and program visibility.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of influencer marketing experience, with success across both brand and/or agency roles.
- Experience managing high-volume creator programs, including 100+ active influencers at a time.
- Deep fluency in the influencer tech stack—you’ve worked with platforms like GRIN, Aspire, CreatorIQ, Later, and Archive, and have a strong POV on what actually works.
- You come with a toolkit and system you trust, and you’re excited to optimize or rebuild our current workflows.
- Proven ability to launch and scale branded ambassador programs with clear KPIs and high retention.
- Confident in contract negotiation and creator relations, including UGC rights, long-term partnerships, and tiered incentives.
- Sharp analytical skills—you use data to drive strategy, not just report on it.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable presenting to executives and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Deep knowledge of social content performance, platform trends, and creator marketing best practices.
- Strong operational and systems thinking skills—you can build structure in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with affiliate-driven influencer campaigns and tying creator work to business results.
Nice-to-Have:
- Existing relationships with creators, agents, or managers in the lifestyle, fashion, or accessories space.
- Experience building VIP creator communities, tiered ambassador structures, or loyalty-driven partnerships.
- Background in event planning, influencer activations, or experiential marketing.
What we can offer you!
- Salary range: $70,000 - 75,000/year (dependent upon experience)
- Health, dental & vision insurance (75% cost covered by PLG for team member)
- 401(k) after 1 year with 4% company match
- Discounted pet insurance
- Holidays (including 1 floating holiday), vacation & sick time
- Store discount
- Dynamic & collaborative team environment
