Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in Integrated Technology, Computation & Experimental Biology to lead discovery programs at the intersection of human biology and computation. You will define integrated strategies that connect genetics, multi-omics, single-cell and spatial data with AI-enabled reasoning to accelerate therapeutic discovery.

In this role you will mentor teams, drive cross-functional collaborations, and guide strategic initiatives that transform inflammation research

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree PhD or equivalent; or PharmD or MD with computational biology experience.
• Master’s with 6+ years of computational biology and multi-omics data integration.
• Bachelor’s with 8+ years of computational biology and multi-omics data integration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and make high-quality decisions.
• Experience leading scientific teams or as a lead scientist for programs, platforms, or capabilities.
• Experience applying computational biology with experimental biology in drug discovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership for discovery programs, platforms, and strategic initiatives.
• Translate human genetics and multi-omics data into actionable experiments and analyses.
• Lead AI-enabled analyses to synthesize literature and internal data for target prioritization.
• Define and guide program strategy, milestones, and diagnostic experiments.
• Identify and implement emerging technologies that scale inflammation research.
• Mentor colleagues and communicate complex science to leadership and external audiences.
• Publish and present scientific outputs and build external scientific eminence.
