Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking an Infectious Disease Scientist II for an onsite, 12-month contract in West Point, PA. The role focuses on running ELISAs, virology assays, and generating viral stocks to support pre-clinical vaccine programs.

Candidates should have a PhD with hands-on experience or a BS/BA with extensive lab experience. The position requires 3+ years of lab research experience, ability to work in a 100% lab-based environment, and comfort with handling bloodborne pathogen screening.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS/BA with 6 years or MS with 4 years in a biological sciences major.
• PhD with at least 1 year of hands-on expertise with required skill set is must.
• At least 3 years of post-degree lab research experience.

Responsibilities

• Run ELISAs, viral plaque reduction assays and serum neutralization assays.
• Generate viral stocks and manage internal/external shipments.
• Maintain sample inventory and provide overall laboratory support.
• Support Infectious Disease and Vaccines team in pre-clinical vaccine testing.

Note

• This is 100% lab based onsite role.
• Candidate should be fine with Blood borne pathogens titer screening after the assignment has started. Client will be performing the titer test.

Overall Responsibilities

• We are seeking a contractor to join the Infectious Disease and Vaccines department in the vaccines group.
• The overarching goal of the group is to test pre-clinical vaccine candidates in animal models to help advance our viral vaccine programs.
• The contractor will be responsible for running ELISAs, viral plaque reduction assays, serum neutralization assays, generating viral stocks, managing internal, external shipments, sample inventory and overall laboratory support.
