Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is seeking a part-time physician to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting in Texas. The role involves examining patients, ordering tests, and planning treatment while maintaining accurate documentation in the EHR.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

This position is responsible for providing medical care. This may include examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment. The person in this position works in a busy, pressured environment and sees a high volume of patients each day.

Major/Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care to include chronic, and urgent healthcare to incarcerated patients.
• Effective and timely documentation in the EHR.
• Effective collaboration and communication

Required Qualifications

• Graduated from an approved accredited School of Medicine with an M.D. or D.O. degree; licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer your license to Texas; certificate or
• license for prescribing controlled substances; three years post-graduate training in primary care medicine

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certification in Infectious Disease. Clinical experience managing HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections, and other communicable diseases.
• Experience providing infectious disease consultations through telehealth.
• Experience in correctional healthcare, public health, community health, or other medicallyunderserved settings.
