Job summary

KOPA, Inc. is seeking an Infectious Disease Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat health conditions and promote preventive care at Avante Melbourne. You will serve as a key clinician and educator, ensuring high-quality care for residents with specialized infection control needs.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supervise NPs, and help develop workflows while covering shifts across Florida facilities as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a skilled nursing facility and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Expertise in primary, acute and chronic care.
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and strong ethics.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and their medical records.
• Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays, etc.).
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses.
• Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications.
• Maintain accurate records and schedules.
• Inform patients about health conditions and prescribed meds.
• Educate patients and families on diseases, epidemics and prevention.
• Oversee patients’ overall health and promote good practices.
• Advance professional knowledge and conduct research.
• Supervise and mentor NP team.
• Review documentation and provide clinical feedback.
• Lead team meetings and onboarding/training of new NPs.
• Assist in creating workflows and best practices.
• Provide coverage at other Florida facilities as needed.
