Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the BUMCP Infectious Disease team in Phoenix. You will provide essential patient care, room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and update electronic medical records with accuracy and timeliness.

The role includes support for front desk tasks, scheduling, referrals, and supplies management within a university teaching hospital setting. Certification and training support are provided, with a pathway for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Banner-approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and patient symptoms.
• Assist with exams and minor procedures; perform phlebotomy and EKGs where needed.
• Coordinate patient care: referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and test results communication.
• Provide clerical support: medical records, billing information, and patient communications.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and proper disinfection procedures.
• Monitor inventory of medications and supplies.
