Job summary

Comfort Creek Nursing and Rehab is seeking an RN Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator to oversee the facility's infection prevention program and coordinate staff education to ensure resident safety and compliance.

The role combines infection control oversight with ongoing staff development, ensuring proper training, competency assessment, and regulatory readiness in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Current, active Georgia RN license.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and CMS regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Infection Preventionist training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the facility's infection prevention and control program.
• Monitor, track, and report infections.
• Conduct infection control audits and facility rounds.
• Ensure proper hand hygiene, PPE use, and isolation precautions.
• Investigate and assist with infection outbreaks.
• Coordinate new employee orientation and staff in-services.
• Provide ongoing staff education and annual competencies.
• Maintain training and infection control documentation.
• Assist with survey preparation and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in QAPI meetings and performance improvement activities.
