Job summary

Lake Manassas Health & Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville, VA seeks an Infection Preventionist to lead the Center's Infection Prevention and Control Program. This role protects residents, staff, and visitors by developing, implementing, and overseeing prevention strategies.

Under the Director of Nursing and Administrator, you will educate staff, conduct surveillance and audits, analyze infection trends, and ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Virginia.
• At least 1 year infection prevention experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of infection surveillance, reporting and trend analysis.
• Experience providing staff education and training.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and other computer applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the facility's infection prevention and control program.
• Monitor and track healthcare-associated infections.
• Conduct infection control rounds, audits, surveillance.
• Provide infection prevention education and training to staff.
• Develop and implement action plans for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA and Virginia regulations.
