Job summary

Lake Manassas Health & Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville, VA seeks an Infection Preventionist to lead the facility's infection prevention program. The role focuses on education, surveillance, audits, and action plans to meet CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Virginia RN license with at least 1 year in infection prevention, possess strong data-analysis and communication skills, and can train staff while supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia (unrestricted).
• Minimum 1 year of Infection Prevention and Control experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of infection surveillance, reporting, data collection and trend analysis.
• Experience educating staff and conducting trainings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Monitor and track healthcare-associated infections.
• Conduct infection control rounds, audits, and surveillance.
• Provide infection prevention education and staff training.
• Develop and implement plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA and Virginia regulations.
