Job summary

Hale Makua Health Services in Maui is seeking an Infection Preventionist / RN to lead the facility infection control program and support resident safety and quality care for Maui's kūpuna.

You will oversee regulatory compliance, analyze infection patterns, coordinate plan-of-correction, manage employee health issues and assist with outbreak investigation, reporting to state authorities as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Registered Nurse with the State of Hawaii Board of Nursing.
• Two years of experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to learn the use of quality improvement methods and materials required.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred. (can be done in-house).

Responsibilities

• Ensures facility compliance with all regulatory requirements related to education, quality improvement and infection control.
• Aggregates, analyzes and investigates patterns of infection in the facility. Implements plan of correction for identified problems and presents at the QAA Committee.
• Oversees employee health issues such as physicals, including the administration of PPD tests and immunizations.
• Conducts outbreak investigation and initiate control measures. Reports communicable diseases to the state as required by law.
