Job summary

Hale Makua Health Services in Maui is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care to residents in a 254-bed facility. Immediate openings offer a retention bonus of up to $8,000 upon joining the team, with relocation assistance possible.

The role requires an accredited nursing program graduate and an active Hawaii LPN license, with preference for geriatrics experience and in-house TB health review and First Aid/CPR where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Hawaii LPN license.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• TB clearance and health review required (in-house possible).
• First Aid and CPR preferred (in-house possible).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of the patient’s diagnoses, limitations, expectations, plan of health, and current status.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Appraises the family, physician and others of changes/incidents.
• Collaborates with physicians, therapy services, consultants and agencies to improve quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

The Position

• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
