Job summary

Aventura Joliet is seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. You will lead infection prevention initiatives, educate staff, and help develop and enforce policies to maintain high standards of resident care at Avantra Joliet.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Science or Nursing, an Illinois RN license, CPR certification, and several years of RN and infection control experience. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing or related field.
• Unencumbered State of Illinois RN license.
• CPR Certification required.
• Five (5) years of RN experience and 2–3 years in infection control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and enforce infection control policies and procedures.
• Identify, control and prevent outbreaks of infection in the facility.
• Collect and analyze infection control data for reporting and improvement.
• Provide infection prevention education to staff, residents, and families.

As an Infection Preventionist Nurse, you are at the heart of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Joliet by providing education to staff and assisting with the development, implementation and enforcement of infection control policies and procedures, identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infection in the facility, collecting and analyzing infection control data and acting as an infection control resource for employees, residents, and their family members. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive an unparalleled standard of care.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Science, Nursing or related field, an unencumbered State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license and C.P.R. Certification. Five (5) years of experience as a R.N. and 2-3 years of experience in an infection control position is preferable.
