Job summary

Avantara Pierre is seeking an Infection Control nurse (RN) to join our friendly, caring team. You will lead infection prevention efforts, educate staff, and help maintain the highest standard of resident care in our skilled nursing facility.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, SD RN license, CPR, and several years of RN experience with recent infection control exposure. We offer competitive wages, bonuses, shift differentials, tuition reimbursement and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Nursing or related field required.
• Unencumbered State of South Dakota RN license and CPR certification.
• Five (5) years of RN experience and one (1) year in infection control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and enforce infection control policies and procedures.
• Educate staff and serve as infection control resource for employees, residents and families.
• Identify, control and prevent outbreaks within the facility and analyze infection data.

As an Infection Control nurse you are at the heart of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Pierre by providing education to staff and assisting with the development, implementation and enforcement of infection control policies and procedures, identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infection in the facility, collecting and analyzing infection control data and acting as an infection control resource for employees, residents, and their family members. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive an unparalleled standard of care.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Science, Nursing or related field, an unencumbered State of South Dakota RN license and C.P.R. Certification. Five (5) years of experience as a R.N. and one (1) year of experience in an infection control position is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
