Are you a nurse passionate about infection control and prevention? The Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent or control infections, based on surveillance reports of infections and infection potential among residents and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor healthcare-associated infections.
• Assess infection prevention problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures.
• Conduct outbreak investigations, initiate control measures, and report communicable diseases to the state as required by law.
• Provide educational offerings for orientation and ongoing inservices.
• Consult with department heads and physicians to improve care.
• Follow up on employee/resident exposures to communicable diseases.

Qualifications:

• RN or LPN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Current CPR certification.
• SPICE trained.
