Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist to lead surveillance and education efforts to prevent healthcare-associated infections.

You will oversee compliance with CMS and accreditation standards and guide clinical staff through policy updates and performance-improvement initiatives. Prospective candidates should have deep APIC-aligned infection prevention expertise, experience interpreting regulatory guidelines, and the ability to mentor clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology or related field required upon hire.
• Associate degree in a healthcare-related field acceptable on hire.
• Minimum of three years of healthcare experience.
• CIC certification required within 24 months of start.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention surveillance to ensure CMS/state/hospital accreditation standards.
• Provide expert guidance and lead staff training on infection control practices.
• Develop and update infection prevention policies aligned with APIC guidelines.
• Analyze infection data to identify trends and implement targeted improvements.
