Job summary

The role requires an RN with a nursing diploma, active state license, CPR, IPC training, and preferred geriatrics experience.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing).
• Active RN license in good standing in the applicable state.
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; must remain current.
• Specialized IPC training beyond initial professional training.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.
• Certifications or training per State requirements (e.g., Certified TB Nurse).

Responsibilities

• Monitors public health advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDC.
• Serves as on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, per CDC recommendations.
• Works onsite at the facility; not an off-site consultant or at another location.
• Develops and maintains the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
• Maintains knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practices.
• Performs work within the scope of the RN license.
• Makes independent decisions when warranted.
• Implements IPC programs and interprets goals, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional relationships; adheres to policies and compliance training.
