Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four years of acute care hospital experience required.
• Current RN license to practice in North Carolina.
• Professional Infection Control Certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and evaluates the hospital's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and programs.
• Conducts surveillance, data collection, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infection data.
• Oversees cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and aseptic technique practices across the facility.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting agency standards.
• Performs new-hire health screenings and manages employee exposure follow-up.
• Provides education and serves as a resource to staff, leadership, and medical providers.
• Supports development of employee health and infection prevention initiatives and annual program evaluations.
