Job summary

Wilson Health in Sidney, OH is seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Specialist to lead our infection prevention program and promote a culture of safety across the organization.

You will direct hospital-wide infection prevention efforts, serve as a consultant to staff and leadership, and develop education for employees, physicians, and patients on prevention topics. Responsibilities include HAIs surveillance, NHSN reporting, and collaboration with local health departments.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Ohio (BSN) or Master’s in Public Health, Microbiology, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of infection prevention, quality, or public health experience.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred; required within one year of hire.
• Strong analytical, communication, and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate hospital-wide infection prevention efforts to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Consult staff, providers, and leadership on infection control best practices.
• Develop and deliver education for employees, physicians, and patients on infection prevention topics.
• Conduct surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and collaborate with local health departments as required.
• Oversee NHSN reporting, manage the annual flu vaccination program, and support Water Safety and Hand Hygiene programs.
• Participate in construction and renovation projects, ensuring infection control risk assessments are implemented.
