Job summary

Nexus Health Management is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control practices to protect residents and staff. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance and leading infection prevention initiatives.

You will deliver primary skincare, identify and manage skin disorders and ulcers, contribute to care plans, and educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention and nutrition to support healing.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license is required.
• IP Certification by CDC is required.
• Solid understanding of infection prevention principles and regulations.
• Excellent communication and education skills.
• Professional experience as an Infection Control Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor infection prevention and control programs.
• Identify infection risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control practices to protect residents, staff, and visitors. This role promotes a safe healthcare environment by identifying infection risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading infection prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• As an infection control/wound care nurse, you will provide primary skincare to residents.
• You will identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders, primary and secondary lesions, and decubitus ulcers.
• You will participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• You will educate family, staff, and residents about the importance of nutrition, skin barriers, hydration, turning, and repositioning to promote wound healing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active RN License in the state of Illinois
• IP Certified by CDC
• Understanding of infection prevention principles and regulations
• Excellent communication and education skills
• Professional experience as an Infection Control Nurse
