Job summary

Nexus at River Oaks is seeking an Infection Prevention and Wound Care Nurse to develop and monitor infection prevention practices for residents, staff, and visitors. You will promote a safe healthcare environment, identify infection risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include managing skin care, wound treatment, and participating in care plan development, while educating families, staff, and residents on wound healing and skin health.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois is required.
• CDC IP certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention principles and regulations.
• Excellent communication and education skills.
• Experience as an Infection Control Nurse.

Position Overview:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control practices to protect residents, staff, and visitors. This role promotes a safe healthcare environment by identifying infection risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading infection prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• As an infection control/wound care nurse, you will provide primary skincare to residents.
• You will identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders, primary and secondary lesions, and decubitus ulcers.
• You will participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• You will educate family, staff, and residents about the importance of nutrition, skin barriers, hydration, turning, and repositioning to promote wound healing.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active RN License in the state of Illinois
• IP Certified by CDC
• Understanding of infection prevention principles and regulations
• Excellent communication and education skills
• Professional experience as an Infection Control Nurse
