COMMUNITY PHARMACY in Mascoutah, IL is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and wound care practices ensuring resident safety.

You will lead regulatory compliance, educate staff and families, and collaborate on care plans to promote wound healing and overall health in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois required.
• Knowledge of infection prevention principles and regulations.
• Experience as an infection control nurse preferred.
• Strong communication and education skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary skincare to residents as infection control/wound care nurse.
• Identify, manage, and treat skin disorders and decubitus ulcers.
• Participate in development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Educate family, staff, and residents on nutrition, skin barriers, hydration, turning, repositioning for wound healing.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control practices to protect residents, staff, and visitors. This role promotes a safe healthcare environment by identifying infection risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading infection prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• As an infection control/wound care nurse, you will provide primary skincare to residents.
• You will identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders, primary and secondary lesions, and decubitus ulcers.
• You will participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• You will educate family, staff, and residents about the importance of nutrition, skin barriers, hydration, turning, and repositioning to promote wound healing.
