Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management is seeking an Infection Prevention Control Officer to lead the infection prevention program in a skilled nursing facility. The role focuses on preventing and controlling infections among residents, staff, and guests while ensuring CDC and Joint Commission standards are met.

Candidates must hold Active LPN licensure in the practicing state and have 2+ years in infection prevention or related healthcare roles; IPCO certification is required or obtainable within 5

Qualifications

• Active LPN licensure in the state of practice.
• Two or more years of experience as an Infection Preventionist or related healthcare professional with knowledge of infection prevention, microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices.
• CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for administering the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests. You will manage and administer the centers COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed and educate staff on CDC updates, as well as ensure staff are educated in proper use of PPD.
• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities
