Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Infection Prevention Control Officer to lead the facility's infection prevention program within a long-term and sub-acute care setting. The role focuses on preventing infections, coordinating testing schedules, and educating staff on CDC updates.

The ideal candidate holds an active LPN license in Florida and 2+ years in infection prevention, with CDC IPCO certification or willingness to obtain within 5 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires active LPN licensure in the state of practice.
• Two or more years of experience as an Infection Preventionist or related healthcare role with knowledge of infection prevention, microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices.
• CDC- IPCO certification required or willingness to obtain within 5 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation/sub-acute care nursing center.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests; manage COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed and educate staff on CDC updates.
• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, and federal/state infection prevention and control regulations.
