Job summary

Genesis in Cedar Grove, NJ seeks a Nursing Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention and control activities across the center. The role focuses on coordinating IPC with QAPI, training staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance for immunizations and vaccines.

The ideal candidate is a licensed practical nurse with strong infection control expertise, 3+ years of nursing experience (LTAC preferred), and flexibility to work various shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with active nursing licensure in New Jersey.
• Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience; long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of patient care as it relates to infection investigation, control and prevention.
• Integrate IPCP with the nursing centers' QAPI processes and report status to the IPCP committee.
• Develop, implement and teach education programs in response to infection control needs identified through QAPI or rounds.
• Support new hire orientation by providing infection prevention training for new staff.
• Review immunization documentation for new hires to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee vaccine administration and monitoring for influenza and pneumococcal vaccination.
• Maintain infection prevention and control records per policy and regulatory requirements.
