Job summary

Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA, seeks an Infection Prevention Specialist III to join the Regulatory Compliance team. You will develop and monitor a system-wide infection prevention program, oversee surveillance of infections, and advise clinicians on control measures.

The role requires CIC certification or within one year, a bachelor’s degree, and three years of clinical surveillance experience. Travel between Lowell General locations is expected; 40 hours/week day shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Public Health, Nursing, or Behavioral Science.
• License or certification as applicable; CIC or obtain within 1 year.
• Three years of clinical experience with surveillance of health care–associated infections.

Responsibilities

• Develops infection control policies and procedures.
• Performs epidemiological investigations.
• Leads infection prevention topics (hand hygiene, disinfection, etc.).
• Investigates exposures and follows up with infection control procedures.
• Leads PI teams and staff training.
• Collaborates with departments and external agencies.
• Participates in JCAHO readiness and reporting with public health.
