Job summary

Lowell General Hospital in Chelmsford, MA is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist III to join our Regulatory Compliance team. This role develops, implements, and monitors a system-wide infection prevention program and provides expert guidance to clinical staff.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare, a CIC or equivalent certification, 3 years of infection surveillance experience, and strong data analysis and training skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Public Health, Nursing, or Behavioral Science.
• Appropriate professional license or certification based on educational background.
• CIC certification OR Obtain within one (1) year of hire.
• Three (3) years of clinical experience, including performing surveillance for health care associated infections.

Responsibilities

• Develops infection control policies for the medical center and departments from guidelines and research.
• Performs epidemiological investigations and surveillance.
• Leads infection control improvements and PI teams.
• Provides orientation and training for staff and clinicians on infection control.
• Coordinates reporting with Department of Public Health and other agencies.
• Collaborates with departments to implement prevention measures.
