Job summary

University City Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Philadelphia is seeking an Infection Prevention Nurse/Educator for a full-time role. You will lead infection prevention efforts, identify trends, and educate staff to maintain patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualified candidates hold an active nursing license with BLS CPR, completion of infection prevention training, and CIC is preferred. Benefits and a collaborative work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Active, in-good-standing nursing license.
• BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Associate degree in Nursing or related field.
• Completed specialized infection prevention and control training.
• CIC certification preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to identify trends.
• Excellent communication and collaboration to educate staff.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor, and report trends in healthcare-associated infections to support timely intervention and prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with facility leadership, clinical teams, and staff to implement and sustain effective infection prevention and control practices.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all infection prevention policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control initiatives to reduce risk and improve resident and staff safety.
• Provide staff with education and training on infection prevention practices to ensure awareness and adherence to established protocols.
• Participate in the facility’s Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) committee to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Conduct surveillance activities, audits, and assessments to monitor infection control effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert on infection prevention guidance across the organization.
