Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist to support the facility infection prevention plan under the Director of Quality. You will collaborate with leadership, staff and medical teams to develop, implement, monitor, and champion infection control processes.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to travel within the hospital and work independently to improve patient safety and care quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical healthcare or related field or equivalent
• 3+ years clinical healthcare experience
• Licensure not required

Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation, review and support of the facility infection prevention plan
• Collaborate with leadership, coworkers and medical staff to develop, implement, monitor, and champion infection control processes
• Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values and Service Standards
• Travel throughout the hospital as needed
