Mercy is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist to support the facility infection prevention plan under the Director of Quality. You will collaborate with leadership, staff and medical teams to develop, implement, monitor, and champion infection control processes.
The role requires strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to travel within the hospital and work independently to improve patient safety and care quality.
Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Infection Prevention Specialist will participate in the implementation, review and support of the facility infection prevention plan.

The Infection Prevention Specialist will collaborate with leadership, coworkers and medical staff to develop, implement, improve, monitor, and champion processes related to key infection control strategies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's of Science in clinical healthcare or a health sciences related field (e.g. nursing, lab sciences, public health or related field). An Associate's degree or Nursing diploma and commensurate experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, in addition to the required experience, may be considered.
Licensure: None required
Experience: 3+ years clinical healthcare related experience
Certification/Registration: None required
Experience: 5+ years clinical healthcare related experience
