Job summary
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center seeks a Quality Assurance/Infection Prevention Nurse to coordinate the hospital’s Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention programs in alignment with committees and leadership. The role focuses on regulatory requirements and continuous quality improvement across hospital and clinics, with collaboration across departments.
The successful candidate will provide leadership input, work with diverse teams, and drive data-informed actions to improve patient care
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- BSN required or commitment to complete within five years of start date.
- Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa.
- CBIC certification is highly recommended.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a consultant to nursing and other healthcare professionals with clinical recommendations.
- Collaborates with leaders to identify processes needing improvement and actions to evaluate change.
- Abstracts patient data and enters into databases to demonstrate regulatory compliance and quality indicators.
- Performs data collection requiring complex decision-making for clinical transformation teams.
- Demonstrates proficiency in data submission software and retrieves data on request.
- Assists in designing data collection tools and coordinates complex data collection processes.
