Job summary

Medilodge of Zeeland is seeking an experienced SDC/ADON/IC RN to coordinate infection prevention and provide total nursing care. The role supervises clinical staff and guides infection prevention and control programs, with a focus on data analysis and education.

Qualified candidates are graduates of an accredited School of Nursing, hold a valid RN license, and have infection control training with at least two years of nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state employed; CPR certification.
• Two years of nursing experience; infection control training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, analyzing, and providing infection data and trends to nursing staff and health care practitioners.
• Consulting on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies.
• Providing education and training; implementing evidence-based infection control practices per regulatory guidelines.
• Oversees surveillance system elements: definitions, tools, rounds, at-risk residents, data analysis, outbreak feedback.
• Ensures infection control reports describe infection types and trends.
• Provides summaries of staff observations, infection investigations, and underlying causes of trends.
• Defines frequency and methods for surveillance data collection.
• Monitors adherence to infection prevention policies and procedures.
• Shares surveillance reports with the director of nursing and medical director.
• Reviews antibiotic use.
• Monitors standard and transmission-based precautions; contains outbreaks as needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
