Job summary

Cape Heritage Rehab in Sandwich, MA is seeking an Infection Control Nurse (LPN or RN) to lead our Infection Prevention & Control program. The role pays $40-$50 per hour, depending on experience and licensure, at a 123-bed skilled nursing facility.

The nurse will plan, organize, and evaluate the infection control program, maintain documentation, and conduct monthly surveillance. Strong wound care training and epidemiology knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university.
• Must possess an active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Massachusetts. CPR required.
• Must possess training or current experience in wound care.
• Certification in infection control and/or wound care preferred, but not necessary.
• Two years of Infection Control experience preferred.
• Must have at least two (2) years of clinical experience in a long-term care facility.
• Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques to include Standard Precautions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, direct, and evaluate our Infection Control Program and its components to ensure an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program is maintained.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to the Infection Control & Prevention Program.
• Conduct monthly surveillance rounds to evaluate the status of Infection-related practices in the facility.
• Assist the Staff Development Director in educating employees on Infection Control Practices, Policies, and Procedures.
• Participate in the Employee Health and Safety Committees and maintain Employee Health Records.
• Review monthly laboratory reports and assure up-to-date laboratory policy/procedure manuals are available.
