Job summary

West Shore Health Center in Rhode Island seeks an RN with infection control certification to oversee infection prevention practices at our facility. The role requires ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards to maintain a high level of care.

You will manage employee health records, audit policy compliance, and educate staff on best practices. NHSN weekly reporting is part of the duties, along with other tasks assigned by the DNS/NHA.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as an RN in Rhode Island.
• Must possess an infection control certification and related experience.
• Ability to plan, organize and execute nursing duties with timely decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infection control/prevention activities within the facility to minimize infection risk and monitor quality measures.

Job description

Responsible for infection control practices in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern over our facility and as may be required by the DNS and/or NHA to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Duties include but are not limited to

• Oversee the infection control/prevention activities within the facility to minimize the risk of infections and monitor compliance with quality measures
• Manage the employee health program and records
• Auditing for compliance with policies and procedures
• Educating/addressing staff on areas of infection control practices
• NHSN weekly reporting
• All other duties deemed appropriate by the DNS and/or NHA.

Qualified applicants must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Rhode Island. Must possess an infection control certification and experience, demonstrate the ability to plan, organize and execute nursing duties in a timely fashion. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations, a professional attitude and high personal integrity.
