Job summary

Tallis is seeking an experienced Infection Control Nurse (LVN) in California to oversee and strengthen the facility's infection prevention program. You will plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate practices to meet CDC/OSHA requirements and protect residents and staff.

You will collaborate with the DON and leadership, lead staff education on hand hygiene, PPE, isolation, and reporting, and guide regulatory surveys.

Qualifications

• Current, active LVN license in California is required.
• Infection prevention certification through APIC or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and infection control practices.
• Familiarity with CDC/OSHA guidelines and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate the facility's infection prevention program.
• Ensure compliance with CDC/OSHA and state/federal regulations.
• Maintain infection control policies, isolation protocols and standard precautions.
• Conduct rounds to monitor practices, sanitation and isolation precautions.
• Investigate and report infections to health departments when required.
• Prepare monthly infection control reports and recommend improvements.
