Job summary

The Infantryman position with the DC Army National Guard offers hands-on training and real-world responsibility while serving part-time. You’ll learn tactics, operate weapons and communications gear, and contribute to mission success.

You will receive paid training, a monthly paycheck, and access to education benefits through the Montgomery GI Bill and tuition assistance. Eligibility requires 17–35 years old, high school diploma or GED, and Army National Guard enlistment.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Actual MOS assignment may depend on MOS availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations.
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions, including engaging targets using night vision sights.
• Operate and maintain communications equipment.
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions.
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents.
• Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry.
• Use, maintain, and store combat weapons (e.g., rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, etc.)
