Summary

Ellie's Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team in Somerville, NJ. You will work alongside other teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants. Your primary responsibility will be to support the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of each child while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Duties

1. Child Care and Supervision:
   • Provide attentive and compassionate care to infants aged 6 weeks to 24 months.
   • Ensure infants' safety, hygiene, and well-being at all times.
   • Create a comfortable and stimulating environment that promotes growth and development.
2. Curriculum Implementation:
   • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities to support infants' early development.
   • Plan and organize daily routines, including feeding, napping, and playtime, to encourage growth and learning.
3. Individualized Assessment:
   • Conduct regular assessments to track infants' progress and tailor activities to their needs and milestones.
   • Communicate developmental milestones and concerns to parents and guardians.
4. Communication and Collaboration:
   • Establish strong, positive relationships with parents and guardians, maintaining open communication.
   • Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
5. Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment:
   • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the infant classroom, including proper sanitation of toys and equipment.
   • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a licensed childcare center.
• Experience working with infants and a passion for early childhood education.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Patience, empathy, and ability to provide emotional support to infants and families.
• Physical ability to lift and carry infants, stand for extended periods, and engage in physical activities.
