Job summary

Children's Therapy Center is seeking an experienced Developmental Specialist–Special Educator to join our ESIT team in Kent, Washington. The role focuses on assessing and supporting infants and toddlers birth to 3, delivering services in natural environments, including home and telehealth, with active caregiver participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required or a current WA State teaching certificate.
• ESIT Credential application or eligibility is required/preferred.
• Master’s degree is a plus and CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Experience with infants/toddlers with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills, and ability to work with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a multidisciplinary ESIT team to conduct screenings, evaluations and ongoing assessments.
• Educate parents on child development across cultural and community differences.
• Provide coaching to families in homes, natural environments or telehealth.
• Develop IFSP with families to support diverse identities and needs.
• Collaborate with caregivers to meet family and community needs through ESIT team meetings and trainings.
• Engage families to incorporate language and cultural traditions into daily routines.
• Promote warm, healthy attachments and caregiver-child relationships.
• Ensure compliance with policy timelines (IDEA Part B & C).
