Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is seeking an Infant Toddler Assistant Teacher to support children six weeks to four years old. This role focuses on promoting social, physical, and intellectual growth within a 'Child First' environment, ensuring each child feels safe, valued, and engaged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA or college degree in related field preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certifications to be completed within the first 90 days.
• Candidates must pass FBI/BCI background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with teachers to maintain a structured environment with planned activities in classroom and outside.
• Promote positive social behaviors in the classroom.
• Assist with arrival routines and help children engage in activities.
• Assist with basic needs, including feeding, dressing, and diaper changes per guidelines; serve meals and snacks as appropriate.
• Observe students to ensure safety per state guidelines.
• Maintain a sanitary classroom environment and clean dishes, toys, and clothing.
• Provide daily information to parents/guardians.
• Maintain student daily sheets and attendance records.
• Communicate with colleagues and families as part of the Early Learning team.
• Work in multiple classrooms as assigned.
• Adhere to all JCC and departmental policies.
• Complete any additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
