Job summary

The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation is seeking an Infant Toddler Assistant Teacher to care for children six weeks to four years old. The position supports our Child First philosophy, helping children grow socially, physically, and intellectually within a nurturing environment.

You will collaborate with teachers and families, assist with daily routines, meals, and safety, and help create engaging activities across classrooms while upholding state guidelines and our standards of excellence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CDA or related degree preferred.
• First Aid, CPR, and health/safety certifications to be completed within 90 days.
• Candidates must pass FBI/BCI background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with teachers to maintain a structured classroom and plan activities.
• Promote positive social behaviors in the classroom.
• Assist with arrival routines and engage children in activities.
• Care for basic needs and manage meals and snacks per guidelines.
• Observe students for safety according to state guidelines.
• Sanitize and clean classroom supplies and clothing.
• Provide daily information to parents/guardians.
• Maintain attendance sheets and student records.
• Collaborate with families and attend staff meetings.
• Work across multiple classrooms as assigned.
• Follow all organizational policies.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
