Job summary

Desert Preschool Academy is seeking a dedicated Teacher to implement a comprehensive early childhood curriculum for children ages 0–5, under the supervision of the Site Supervisor. You will ensure safety, developmentally appropriate activities, and adherence to CACFP, CDE CSPP/CCTR, and licensing standards.

The role requires active collaboration with families and staff, timely DRDP documentation, and ongoing communication.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
• Completed a minimum of 12 core units in ECE/CD from an accredited institution.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Infant Program requires at least 6 ECE/CD units in Infant/Toddler Development.
• Prior experience teaching or working with children in an early childhood setting.
• TB Clearance within 4 years; Physical Exam upon hire.
• Immunizations: Tdap, MMR, annual flu shot or declination.
• CPR and First Aid; Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207; DOJ/FBI/Child Abuse Index clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision of children at all times.
• Plan and implement curriculum through age-appropriate activities.
• Provide meals in accordance with CACFP guidelines.
• Maintain safe, clean classroom and outdoor environments.
• Submit monthly lesson plans reflecting weekly activities.
• Follow behavior policies and classroom management procedures.
• Conduct monthly emergency drills and safety protocols.
• Deliver structured daily routines with engaging activities.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records for reporting.
• Communicate with families and colleagues effectively.
• Support IEPs, IFSPs, and behavior support plans.
• Hold two Parent-Teacher Conferences per year.
