Job summary

Desert Preschool Academy in Indio is seeking a Teacher to implement a comprehensive curriculum and support the developmental needs of young children in CSPP/CCTR programs. The Site Supervisor will oversee daily activities and ensure regulatory compliance.

Under supervision, you will provide active supervision, plan age‑appropriate activities, manage routines, prepare meals per CACFP, ensure a safe classroom environment, and document DRDP/ERS/ASQs while engaging families through conferences.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
• Completed a minimum of 12 core units in ECE/CD from an accredited institution.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Infant Program: 6 ECE/CD units if applicable.
• Prior experience teaching or working with children in an early childhood setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision of children at all times to ensure their safety and well‑being.
• Provide curriculum implementation and planning of age‑appropriate activities supporting development.
• Provide meal preparation and service per CACFP guidelines and program standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and outdoor environment.
• Submit monthly lesson plans reflecting developmentally appropriate weekly activities.
• Provide guidance and classroom management aligned with approved policies.
• Conduct monthly emergency drills and ensure familiarity with safety protocols.
• Establish structured daily routines with engaging activities such as songs and storytelling.
• Maintain consistent classroom schedules aligned with best practices and standards.
• Engage in meaningful, responsive interactions with children and families.
• Document DRDP, ERS assessments, and ASQs per deadlines.
• Support IEPs/IFSPs and behavior plans as needed.
• Hold at least two Parent‑Teacher Conferences per program year.
