Amazing Explorers Academy in Delaware is seeking a dedicated Toddler Teacher to implement the curriculum and supervise children in the classroom. You will support assistant teachers, maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure daily activities align with the director's guidance.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in early childhood settings, strong communication, patience, and a genuine love for children. A CDA or higher in ECE and CPR/first aid certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a Child Care/Daycare Teacher role
• Deep knowledge of child development and current education methods
• Patience, flexibility and love for children
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid and CPR; CDA or higher preferred with 45 hours ECE training

Responsibilities

• Maintain classroom appearance, cleanliness and safety
• Complete academy and classroom paperwork (notes, accident reports, attendance)
• Attend staff meetings, academy events and parent meetings
• Supervise children during activities and support assistants
• Counsel children with social, academic or adjustment issues
• Plan and implement lesson plans and schedules
• Prepare instructional materials for activities
• Assist with meals and clean-up
• Ensure equipment is safe and well-maintained
• Arrange classroom into defined interest areas
• Direct other staff to keep classroom orderly
• Communicate with parents and maintain developmental profiles
• Schedule and conduct parent/teacher conferences
• Maintain family information boards and bulletin boards
• Perform other duties as assigned

About the Toddler Teacher position

The Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum in the classroom and for the supervision and management of children in the classroom. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices to supervise assistant teachers and children in their room, ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.

Teacher responsibilities are:

• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
• Completes all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
• Helps and supervises children during all activities
• Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
• Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules
• Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities
• Helps children with meal times and clean-up
• Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly
• Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas
• Directs activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner
• Communicates appropriate information to parents and maintains developmental profiles for children
• Schedules and conducts parent/teacher conferences throughout the year
• Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Infant Teacher requirements are:

• 2+ years of experience of working on a Child Care or Daycare Teacher position
• Profound experience in child development and up-to-date education methods
• Good patience, flexibility, and love for children
• Strong methodical and creative abilities
• Highly professional and dependable
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid and CPR
• Prefer a CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education with 45 hours training in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
