Job summary

AVANCE San Antonio, Inc. seeks a dedicated early childhood educator to provide a safe, nurturing classroom for infants and toddlers, enabling growth across language, literacy, and social development.

You will implement developmentally appropriate activities, maintain required staff-to-child ratios, conduct assessments, and engage families through home visits and meetings. Travel up to 5% and attend trainings; bilingual skills helpful.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid Training required.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in databases, software, and systems.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Spanish fluency is helpful, but not required.
• Must have dependable transportation daily and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Head Start Program Performance Standards and licensing regulations.
• Maintain a 1:4 teacher-to-child ratio with up to 8 infants/toddlers.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities to support literacy and language growth.
• Conduct daily observations and quarterly developmental assessments.
• Engage families through home visits, family activities, and monthly meetings.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings; travel 0–5% annually; supervise classroom volunteers.
