Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking an Infant Toddler Instructional Assistant to support teaching staff in infant/toddler classrooms in accordance with grant standards and licensing regulations.

No prior education or experience is required; positions offer various hourly rates depending on location, including Metro locations. Metro sites include Washington and Multnomah counties. Placement within the range depends on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria required.
• Infant-Toddler CDA certificate required/preferred.
• 1 year Oregon community college certificate with early childhood focus required.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
• Supervise infants and toddlers in classrooms and on playgrounds using positive guidance techniques
• Assist with daily routines (diapering, toileting, dressing, mealtimes, transitions)
• Help implement daily classroom activities (free play, story time, learning centers)
• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, toys, furniture, and supplies
• Support communication with children, families, and staff in a respectful manner
• Assist with dual language instruction, as applicable
• Help with basic record keeping and classroom documentation as assigned
• Provide classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during breaks or absences
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria

Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate

1 year Oregon community college certificate with training in early childhood development
