Family Services in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an Infant & Toddler Child Care Teacher to provide a safe, supervised learning environment for infants and toddlers, promoting school readiness and essential developmental domains.

The role involves curriculum development, assessment, and collaboration with staff and families, supporting transitions to Head Start or other programs. The position emphasizes health, safety, and compliance with Head Start standards.

Qualificações

• Associate’s degree in early childhood education or Birth to Kindergarten is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct services to children in a childcare setting.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between agency sites.
• Meet federal and state background check and drug screen requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Work collaboratively with co-teacher related to classroom responsibilities.
• Develops and implements a developmentally appropriate, multi-cultural curriculum for children.
• Works cooperatively with support staff in the provision of direct services and the development of goals for children with disabilities.
• Performs duties in accordance with School Readiness goals and requirements.
• Participates daily in team planning of curriculum with co-teacher and input from parents.
• Supervises children at all times and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Implements health and safety policies and NC Day Care regulations.
• Ensure the learning environment supports development across domains (social-emotional, cognitive, language, physical).
• Assist in setting up the learning environment indoor and outdoor.
• Interact with children in all areas including floor and playground.
• Use developmentally appropriate practices to facilitate activities.
• Develop and utilize integrated curriculum plans and Teaching Strategies Gold assessments.
• Plan and implement curriculum with individual and group activities.
• Directs classroom activities and maintains discipline appropriately.
• Encourage all children to participate at all levels.
• Support development of relationships between children and families.
• Assist in recruiting and orienting volunteers.
• Follow a consistent schedule meeting individual needs.
• Meet with staff to discuss services for each child.
• Maintain portfolio assessments with weekly observations.
• Collaborate with co-teacher in planning and carrying out activities.
• Maintain safe and healthy classroom environment and equipment.
• Use playground as an extension of the classroom.
• Assist in health and environment checklists.
• Assist with implementing IEP/IFSP and refer for delays.
• Complete and submit forms like lesson plans and portfolios.
• Assist in transition activities.
• Distribute newsletters and information to families.
• Maintain confidential files.
• Adhere to active supervision protocols.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct.
• Other duties as required.
