Job summary

Northstar Preschools seeks a dedicated Infant/Toddler Teacher to nurture young learners in a supportive classroom. You will implement age-appropriate activities, manage the classroom, and foster social-emotional development while partnering with families.

The ideal candidate will have experience with infants/toddlers, strong communication skills, and a commitment to creating a safe, engaging learning environment. The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of experience with infants and toddlers in a structured childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Must pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create a nurturing and safe learning environment for children.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Collaborate with parents and colleagues to ensure a holistic learning experience for each child.
  • Foster a love of learning through engaging and interactive lesson plans.
  • Supervise and engage with children to promote positive behavior and development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding child progress, concerns, and milestones.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning space.
  • Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and licensing regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Education

High school diploma or GED
Two years experience with infants and toddlers
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
CPR and First Aid Certification
