Job summary

Sevita’s Small Steps clinic seeks a full‑time Infant Feeding Therapist (SLP) to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to infants with feeding, swallowing, and oral motor needs. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat, collaborating with occupational therapists and lactation providers to deliver coordinated care.

Extensive mentorship and training are provided; you will develop personalized plans, coach caregivers, and monitor progress while contributing to a compassionate, family‑centered care

• Master's in Speech-Language Pathology and state licensure required.

Infant Feeding Therapist – Speech-Language Pathologist

Salary: $74,000–$84,000

About The Role

Small Steps is seeking a full‑time Infant Feeding Therapist who is a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary infant feeding team.

This position focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating infants with feeding, swallowing, and oral motor needs. The Infant Feeding Therapist will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Lactation Providers, families, and other clinical professionals to provide coordinated and individualized care.

Evaluations are generally completed in the morning alongside an Occupational Therapist and Lactation Provider. Treatment sessions, caregiver education, and continued feeding support are provided throughout the remainder of the day.

The Infant Feeding Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide direct feeding therapy, monitor progress, complete documentation, and coach caregivers on strategies that support safe and successful feeding at home.

Extensive support, mentorship, and specialized training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat infants with feeding, swallowing, and oral motor needs
• Complete multidisciplinary feeding evaluations with Occupational Therapists and Lactation Providers
• Assess oral motor skills, feeding development, swallowing safety, and caregiver concerns
• Develop and implement individualized feeding treatment plans
• Provide direct infant feeding and oral motor therapy
• Educate and coach parents and caregivers on feeding techniques and home strategies
• Monitor each infant’s progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with families, pediatric providers, and members of the multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Speech Therapy, or a related field
• Current state licensure or certification as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
• Interest in or experience with infant feeding, swallowing, and oral motor care
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to providing compassionate, family‑centered care
• Willingness to participate in specialized infant feeding training
